About Mariner Zinsvale

Built for people managing capital around a full-time income.

Mariner Zinsvale started as an internal data project and became a terminal for New Zealand-based investors who need clear, structured private capital data without a research desk behind them.

How we got here

A tool we needed first, then built for others

Mariner Zinsvale was assembled by people who were already tracking private capital contributions and distributions manually, alongside separate day jobs, and were tired of reconciling spreadsheets late at night. The early version was a private data feed. It became a terminal once it was clear the same structure — consistent inputs, plain reporting, no noise — was useful to more than just its original users.

We are not a wealth manager, a broker, or an advisory firm. Mariner Zinsvale is data infrastructure: it organizes what is happening across private capital positions so the person reviewing it can make their own decisions faster and with fewer blind spots.

Mission

Make private capital data as readable as public market data

Public markets have decades of standardized reporting. Private capital largely doesn't. Mariner Zinsvale exists to close that gap for individual investors who don't have a back office to do it for them.

  • Structure over noise Data is normalized into consistent formats so positions can be compared and tracked over time, not just viewed as isolated updates.
  • Built around real constraints Most of our users review their portfolio outside of working hours. The terminal is designed for quick, focused sessions, not constant monitoring.
  • No advisory layer Mariner Zinsvale presents data and reporting. It does not issue recommendations, and it does not manage capital on anyone's behalf.
What we value

The principles behind how the terminal is built

01 / CLARITY

Plain reporting, not dashboards for their own sake

Every screen in Mariner Zinsvale is built to answer a specific question about a position or a contribution. We avoid decorative metrics that don't change a decision.

02 / RESTRAINT

We don't tell you what to do with your capital

Mariner Zinsvale is a data terminal, not an adviser. Decisions about contributions, distributions, or allocation stay with the person using it.

03 / CONSISTENCY

Same structure, every reporting period

Data formats and update cadence don't shift without notice. If something changes in how information is presented, it's communicated, not silently altered.

Who's behind it

A small team, focused scope

Mariner Zinsvale is maintained by a small team focused specifically on private capital data infrastructure. We keep the scope narrow deliberately: rather than expanding into advisory or execution services, our work stays on making the underlying data structured, current, and easy to review.

Where we're based

Grounded in New Zealand, built for a specific investor

Mariner Zinsvale was built with New Zealand-based private capital investors in mind — specifically those managing contributions and distributions alongside a primary income, rather than as a full-time occupation. That context shapes how the terminal is designed, from reporting cadence to the level of detail shown by default.
